When you use our contact form, you may provide your name, email address, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry. Messages you send through the contact form are handled by our own contact service at contact.lefty23.co.za and read in a mailbox operated by Google, which means the message is stored outside South Africa by a processor bound by its own data protection commitments, as section 72 of POPIA permits.

Automatically Collected Information

We use privacy-focused analytics (Umami) to understand how visitors use our site. This includes:

  • Time spent on pages
  • Referral sources
  • Device type and browser
  • Country/region (not precise location)

We host Umami ourselves at umami.lefty23.co.za. It sets no cookies and does not follow you from one site to another. Advertising on this site is a separate matter and works differently, so please read Cookies and Advertising below.

The site is served through Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived security logs that include your IP address and stores them outside South Africa as our operator, which section 72 of POPIA permits.

Cookies and Advertising

This site carries no ad network and runs no advertising script. It does carry a small number of sponsored links to Travelstart, handled by the AdMarula affiliate network, which is how the site is paid for. You will find them on the best time to visit destination guides, the Long Weekends tool and the Leave Optimizer results, and each one is labelled "Sponsored" where it appears.

Nothing from AdMarula runs on our pages, and the link itself carries no information about you: only a tag naming this site and the spot on the page the link sits in, so that AdMarula can credit the referral. If you click one, you are taken to AdMarula's tracking address, which sets an attribution cookie in your browser and then sends you on to Travelstart. That happens on AdMarula's side, after you choose to click, and AdMarula and Travelstart are independent responsible parties under their own privacy policies, which you can read at admarula.com and travelstart.co.za. AdMarula is a South African company; Travelstart may process your booking details outside South Africa under its own terms once you get there.

Holiday Hub sets no cookies of its own. The only thing this site stores in your browser is your light or dark mode preference, and it does that in local storage rather than in a cookie.
